If you are only change your beard or dyed your whole head to another color, you are fine. But if you have done a plastic surgery or getting a face tattoo, even you lose or gain a significant amount of weight, you are obliged to get a new passport.

Normally it would take 3 weeks to make a Passport and the citizens of the USA can apply for a passport at a post office. For Vietnam's passport, it will take about 15 working days for a passport to be issued. However applicant can apply for an urgent passport.
